The National Minimum wage is to increase by 12p an hour to £6.31 for adults and by 5p to £5.03 per hour for 18-to-20-year-olds from Tuesday 1st October 2013, the government has announced.

The under 18 rate will increase by 4p per hour and the Apprentice rate increases by 3p per hour.
*This rate is for apprentices under 19 or those in their first year. If an Apprentice is 19 or over and past their first year they get the rate that applies to their age.
